Umdat Al-Ahkam is considered as one of the most authentic compilation of Hadiths through which jurists derive their opinions regarding different issues of Jurisprudence (Fiqh). This collection is composed of such Hadiths which have been reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim, or any of these two. Bold letters have been used to transliterate the less commonly used Arabic terms that are not used in daily speech, and we have included English titles for the Hadiths as well as explanation of possible confusion of the Arabic terms used in a particular Hadiths. Furthermore, we provide a detailed Aristotelian Proofs commentary to the Hadiths assembled with the consideration of most scholars regarding multiple fiqh topics.

This work is to provide an English translation and analysis of the 420 Hadiths contained in the book of Abu al-Ghunaim al-Maqdisi and the primary contention of this work will be the legal implications of these Hadiths. This commentary is made based on more than twenty commentaries of 'Umdat al-Ahkam, fifteen commentaries of Bulugh al-Maram, and commentaries on the six major Hadith collections, along with treatises on Islamic law.

This edition includes a detailed commentary on Umdat al-Ahkam by Imam al-Maqdisi, featuring:

Other version of the Ahadith

Vocabulary for each Hadith

Biographies of the narrators

The law that accompanies each Hadith

The commentary is an enumeration of the juristic questions that emanate from the text of the Hadiths as well as the process of issuing rulings based on the text, with references to the principles of Islamic legal theory and the legal maxims of fiqh.
