A self-professed lover of the East and of Islam, Pickthall's curiosity drove him to take lodgings with an expat Englishwoman who had adopted a Turkish way of living. During his stay, Pickthall spoke with the Turks, Greeks,
Armenians and foreigners about politics, religion, gender and war. In With the Turk in Wartime, Pickthall draws on vivid descriptions of Turkish scenes, impassioned political discussions and humourous incidents arising from cultural differences, and explores the role of foreign powers in Turkey, and the fate of a people he holds dear. Infused with the author's kind-hearted and open-minded sensibility, this travel journal is sure to inform and delight.

About This Book:
The Book "In Defence of The Four Imam" is written in the response to the opponents who shows concerns about the major school of sunni islamic law including Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali schools. Ibn Taymiyah argues strongly in this work that the four Imams were all brilliant intellectuals who were fully dedicated to obeying the Prophet Muhammad's teachings. He claims that the variations in their legal judgments should not be interpreted as flaws or faults, but rather as an expression of Islam's allowed variety of thought. It provides a balanced and nuanced appraisal of the four Imams, refuting myths about their legacies.
Ibn Taymiyah underlines the following themes in his book:
The four Imams were respected intellectuals who worked hard to follow the Prophet Muhammad's teachings.
Disagreements in their beliefs should not be considered as flaws but as a reflection of Islam's allowed variety of ideas.
Even when conflicts exist, it is important to accept the four Imams' perspectives.
The Superiority of Dogs by Ibn al-Marzuban

Author: Ibn Al-Marzuban
Book Binding: Paperback
Pages: 104
Size: 8.4 x 5.5 x 0.3
Publiication: 2017
About This Book:
"'The Superiority of Dogs' by Ibn al-Marzuban is a collection of stories and poetry that argues for the superiority of dogs over humans." The Book is divided into two sections. The first section critiques mankind for flaws such as cowardice, avarice, and treachery. The second half, on the other hand, praises dogs for their bravery, selflessness, and steadfast loyalty. To substantiate these claims, the author references poets and tells stories throughout the book.
Ibn al-Marzuban recounted a heroic gesture by a dog that saved its owner's life in one of his legendsThis story exemplifies the extraordinary bravery and loyalty of dogs.
Even when the owner died, the devoted dog stayed by the grave for several days, refusing food and drink. This story perfectly illustrates the depth of love and dedication that dogs may have for their owners.
Ibn al-Marzuban's work contradicts commonly held beliefs about dogs as dirty or harmful creatures. Instead, he contends that dogs are great and dedicated creatures worthy of our respect and appreciation.
This text, written in the 10th century, was written during a period of change in Muslim attitudes about dogs. Dogs were formerly considered dirty and undesired in mosques and households during the early days of Islam, but by the 10th century, they had gained appeal as both pets and working animals. Ibn al-Marzuban's 'The Superiority of Dogs' helped to promote a more favorable attitude toward dogs in Muslim society.

The 'Negro' in Arab Muslim Consciousness By Abdullah Ali
ISBN: 9781905837625
Author: Abdullah Ali
Book Binding: Paperback
Pages: 294
Size: 8.5 x 5.5 x 1.0 inch
Publiication: 2018
About This Book:
What is the ‘negro’? Who qualifies? What is its Arabic equivalent? And, what did pre-modern writers mean by it? There is a common belief that the ‘negro’ refers to any “black” person of sub-Saharan African heritage. Historians, however, often differentiate between the Moor, the Nubian, the Ethiopian, the Kushite, and the Negro. Why this distinction if all “black” Africans and those of African heritage presumably belong to a common pedigree?
This book’s author, Dr. Abdullah bin Hamid Ali, argues that the ‘Negro’ or ‘Zanj’ as perceived by premodern Arab historians, theologians, and jurists was not only a geographical population. It was also one perceived to be culturally inferior to all other known ‘races.’ For Arab climatic theorists like Al-Mas’udi and Ibn Khaldun, this phenomenon could easily be explained by the fact that the ‘Negroes’ (al-Zunuj) lived at the extreme southern regions of the Earth which brought with it a lack of industriousness and urbanization (‘umran) similar to what one might find as he/she travels closer to civilization’s center, the Mediterranean.
A particular aim of this work is to underscore how racial conceptions and perceptions can and have influenced aesthetic standards, social inclusion, and legal norms. The work also demands that its reader reconsider any preset ideas about reified races, which contributes to confusion about the dynamics of race and racism in current times.

About This Book:
This is a companion exercise workbook for use with the self-study or directed-study editions of the course book. The course book is intended for any Muslim who wishes to connect himself to their beloved Prophet. inwardly and outwardly, in order to walk in his footsteps upon knowledge as a worshiper of Allaah and is divided into 15 lessons, with quizzes, and final exam
This work is based upon commentaries of the work ‘Usul as-Sunnah’ of, Imam Ahmad may Allah have mercy upon him.
The course book is designed to help you, as a Muslim, identify the correct sources, principles, and beliefs of the evidenced methodology of Islam upon scholarship and proofs, in order to be able to distinguished what opposes them.
It has been narrated in the two ‘Saheeh’ collections of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim that the Prophet, may Allah’s praise and His salutations be upon him, said," The one whom Allah intends good for He gives him understanding of his religion". As Muslims, each of us wants to have a good understanding so that we can properly practice Islaam, as best as we are able. However, one challenge is the presence of different voices, claims, and calls, all with different ideas, practices, and opposing priorities, yet all saying [This is Islam!] One of the scholars of the early centuries, who stood firm upon the guidance of the Sunnah was Imam as-Sizjee.
He advised us that,"It is upon every Muslim who wants to be saved from misguidance, that they do not turn and rely upon each and every individual, nor depend and trust every book available, and that they do not give controlling influence over his affairs except for the one who clearly stands upon guidance. Speaking about how we can learn to test the correctness of the person who makes claims that something is truly part of this religion, he, may Allah have mercy upon him said," The one who seek safety and deliverance from the harm of these people, and to be protected from following deceptive desires as a Muslim, then his scale and measure must be the Book of Allah, and the transmitted reports of the Sunnah, applied to every single matter he hears about or sees.
If he has knowledge of these two sources they he must weigh matters against the guidance of both of them, and how it was followed by the first three generations. He should not accept from anyone, any statement, without first requesting from that person the support which clearly establishes its soundness and correctness in Islam, in the form of a clear verse of the Qur'an, or a narration of a verified matter from the Sunnah, or to the statement of one of the Companions authentically transmitted. (A Treatise Written by as-Sizjee to the People of Zubayd...’ Chapter Eleven, pgs. 231 & 234

The story demonstrates that what we now call "Christianity" was a construct that superseded their genuine beliefs.
Deedat clearly illustrates that the concept of Jesus as a member of a Trinity was derived from Greek Paganism and adopted by early Christian missionaries in their efforts to convert Greeks

Author: Shaykh Safiur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
Book BInding: Hardcover
Pages: 439
Size: 9.7 x 6.8 inch
Publisher: Darussalam Publications
About This Book:
"The World Muslim League named 'The Sealed Nectar' as the first prize-winning book. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is Allah's Messenger, and those who follow him take a hard stance against nonbelievers while also showing compassion for themselves. They can be seen bending and prostrating in prayer, seeking Allah's approval and blessings. Their dedication is visible on their foreheads, which carry traces of prayerful prostration. The Torah contains a description of them. They are compared to a seed in the Gospel, which sprouts, grows, thickens, and rises tall, pleasing those who planted it.
'The wisdom and understanding that Allah has sent through me is like copious rain falling on the soil,' remarked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Some of it falls on fertile soil, which absorbs it and generates an abundance of flora and grass. Some of it falls on hard ground, retaining the water and allowing people to drink and irrigate.
Some of it falls on arid land, offering no benefit. The first is someone who understands Allah's religion (Islam), benefits from the information provided through me, and shares it with others. The final analogy portrays someone who disregards it, dismissing Allah's guidance given via me, like a desolate area."
