Die Übersetzung des Qur´ans von Dr. Nadeem Elyas und Frank Bubenheim wurde als bisher einzige Übersetzung in den 1980er durch das saudische Religionsministerium in Auftrag gegeben und beglaubigt. Zugleich wird diese Übersetzung direkt in der für Muslime aller Welt heiligen Stadt Medina von der berühmten König Fahd Qur´an Druckerei verlegt. Seither gilt sie durch ihre konsequente Nähe zum arabischen Originaltext und gerade wegen der ausführlichen Kommentierung mit Übersetzungsalternativen, ohne dabei Einbußen bei der Lesbarkeit einstreichen zu müssen, als die bewährteste Übersetzung im gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum. Textlich ist diese Ausgabe multilingual aufgebaut, soll bedeuten, der arabische Originaltext wird jeweils auf der rechten Seite gezeigt, während selbiger Text parallel auf der linken Seite ins Deutsche übersetzt wird.
