It is, by far, the best known, most studied, and most respected English translation of the Qur'an It was the first monumental and authoritative work of its kind and it subsequently inspired many such similar endeavors. The eloquent poetic of the translation and the authenticity of the extensive commentaries and explanatory notes, have, no doubt, contributed greatly to its much deserved reputation as the English ranslation of the meaning of the Qur'an.
The form of this newly revised edition has undergone a more dramatic change in and has been vastly improved in order to facilitate its readability and study. The type for the English text has been completely reset for the first time, thereby making the character definition more legible after many years of reprinting. Abdullah Yusuf Ali says in the Preface to the first edition 'The English shall be, not mere substitute of one word for another, but the best expression I can give to the fullest meaning which I can understand from the Arabic text. The rhythm, music, and exalted tone of the original should be reflected in the English interpretation. It may be but a faint reflection, but such beauty and power as my pen commands shall be brought to it's service'

While I do not have access to the specific book or lecture titled "The Excellence of Fasting & the Fasting Person's Conduct" by Shaykh Muhammad Bin Sad Rasln, I can give you a general overview of the importance of fasting in Islam and the fasting person's conduct based on Islamic teachings. The other name for fasting in Arabic is Sawm. Is the pillar of Islam. The Muslims celebrate and practice this pillar during the month of RAMADAN. It entails fasting from dawn to sundown from food, drink, and other physical demands. Fasting is not about cutting off from eating and drinking it's about to maintain patience and tolerance in behaviors It is a method of spiritual cleansing, self-discipline, and enhanced devotion to Allah (God). Fasting provides several physical and spiritual benefits.
Fasting physically gives rest and purification for the digestive system, aids in detoxification, and can increase general well-being. Fasting helps Muslims develop self-control, patience, and empathy for those who are less fortunate. It is also a time of intensified prayer, introspection, and seeking Allah's proximity. Each act of worship one devotes to Allāh Almighty is tied with several virtues. Whether it is prayer, Zakat, Hajj, or Fasting, all of them are laden with numerous virtues. Is the Trinity Doctrine Divinely Inspired? By M. A. C. Cave

Publication year: 2021
About This Book:
M. A. C. Cave's work "Is the Trinity Doctrine Divinely Inspired?" focuses on the origins and development of the Trinity doctrine within Christianity. Cave makes the case that the Trinity theory is a later invention influenced by Greek philosophical ideas rather than divinely inspired. The book is organized into three sections, each of which examines a distinct facet of the Trinity belief. Cave reviews the biblical evidence frequently presented in support of the Trinity in the first part. He contends that the Bible does not directly teach the Trinity and proposes alternate interpretations for the verses normally linked with the doctrine.
Cave delves into the historical evolution of the Trinity doctrine in the second part. He emphasizes that the idea did not completely emerge until the fourth century and shows how Greek philosophical conceptions such as the Logos influenced its development. Cave delves into the consequences of his discoveries in the third section. Cave's book has received appreciation for its scholarly approach and for illuminating the historical context of the Trinity belief.
This book serves as the food for thought to every right-minded person and the followers of Modern Christianity. The concept of the Trinity has baffled every Christian denomination. Although Mr. M. A. C. Cave was a Christian who believed in the Trinity before, when he carried – out his research into the origin of this doctrine, he discovered to his utter amazement, that it was a later development which was conceived and engineered by various Christian writers and thinkers.
Mr. M. A. C. Cave builds up evidence that the Trinity is nothing but a man – made doctrine that falls short of being a revelation from God. Imam Muhammad al-Shaybani -- He is Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Farqad al-Shaybani. Muhammad was born in Wasit in 132 AH, and grew up in Kufa. He was a pupil of Abu Hanifah. Imam Shafi’i said, "I have not seen anyone more eloquent than him. I used to think when I saw him reciting the Qur’an that it was as if the Qur’an had been revealed in his language."
He also said, "I have not seen anyone more itelligent than Muhammad ibn al-Hasan." Dhahabi said, "He narrated from Malik ibn Anas and others, and he was one of the great oceans of knowledge and fiqh, and he was strong [when he narrated] from Malik." Muhammad said, "I stood at Malik’s door for three years and I heard [the Muwatta’] from him [with] more than seven hundred hadith." He died in Rayy in 189 AH.
About This Book:
Translated by Mohammed Abdurrahman & Abdus Samad Clarke This quote from one of the greatest authorities on hadith of all time is sufficient recommendation. The version of the Muwatta narrated by Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani, one of the two leading pupils of Imam Abu Hanifah, directly from his three years of study with Imam Malik will be of particular interest not only to students of Hanafi fiqh, but also to students of hadith in general. Imam Malik composed the Muwatta’ over a period of forty years to represent the "well-trodden path" of the people of Madina.
Its name also means that it is the book that is "many times agreed upon"— about whose contents the people of Madina were unanimously agreed—and that is "made easy and facilitated". Its high standing is such that people of every school of fiqh and all of the imams of hadith scholarship agree upon its authenticity. Imam Shafi’i said, "There is not on the face of the earth—after the Book of Allah—a book which is more sahih than the book of Malik."
Shah Wali Allah Dihlawi (1114-1176 AH) said, "My breast expanded and I became certain that the Muwatta’ is the most sahih book to be found on the earth after the Book of Allah." Imam Malik -- Imam Malik is the imam of the imams, the leader of the people of knowledge of Madinah, Malik ibn Anas ibn Malik ibn Abi ‘Amir al-Asbahi al-Madani, born in 94 AH, 95 AH or even 99 AH. He was called the Man of Knowledge of Madina. People of knowledge understood that it was him the Prophet saw indicated in the hadith from Abu Hurayra.
"People will soon beat the livers of their camels [in traveling in search of knowledge] but they will not find a man of knowledge more knowledgeable than the man of knowledge of Madina." Among his pupils were the Imams Sufyan ath-Thawri, Sa’id ibn Mansur, ‘Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak, ‘Abd ar-Rahman al-Awza’I who was older than him, Layth ibn Sa’d who was one of his peers, Imam al-Shafi’i, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani, the Malikis ‘Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi, Ibn Wahb, and Dhu’n-Nun al-Misri. He died in 179 AH on the morning of the 14th of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

About This Book:
It covers the Book of Purification, the Book of Prayer, the Book of Funerals, the Book of Zakat, the Book of Fasting, the Book of Rites, the Book of Jihad and the Book of Food. Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd said in al-Madkhal al-Mufassal, Zād al-Mustaqnī’ fī Ikhtisār al-Muqni’ is the text that came to be considered as the main source for the study of the Hanbalī madhab (school of jurisprudence) and quintessential for the students in the land of the Hanābilah (i.e. the Arabian Peninsula); particularly in the region of Najd. The people busied themselves reading, memorising and writing commentaries upon this book. This was carried out in study circles in the masājid where the scholars imparted knowledge to others and also in formal learning institutions.
This book was studied in-depth so much so that some scholars provided explanations just upon the phrases within it so as to make it easy for the new learner. This was expanded to include proofs and evidences for those in the intermediate level. In the levels thereafter, proofs and evidences were fused with the disputes that exist within the madhab and in comparison to the other madhabs. Some scholars said: The texts of Zād and Bulūgh, Suffice for one to attain genius. They indicated through this [the importance of] Zād al-Mustaqni’ with regards to the study of fiqh and Bulūgh al-Marām with regards to the study of hadīth.
No book as exemplary has been authored since it that contains as many important points (muhimāt) and issues (masā’il) as Zād. In fact, Zād excelled in terms of quantity and content. It is said that there are approximately three thousand important points and issues mentioned and similarly another three thousand inferred from the text. Meaning that it possesses within it around six thousand issues. This is what we heard from some of the noble scholars of the madhab in our time. While [in the current time] the students of knowledge transmit from some of the contemporary scholars that the number of issues in Zād goes beyond thirty thousand. Thus one should not avoid it.

About This Book:
Tawhid:
Tawhid is the core idea of Islamic monotheism, confirming faith in Allah's oneness. It includes the belief in Allah's uniqueness, singularity, and absolute sovereignty in His lordship, titles, and qualities, as well as His right to be worshiped alone. Tawhid is a very basic concept of Islam which is the backbone of the Muslim religion
Minor Shirk:
Refers to acts or ideas that include associating partners with Allah but do not rise to the level of blatant polytheism. It can involve activities such as flaunting one's worship, seeking favors from objects or others in a way that jeopardizes Tawhid, or an excessive connection to material riches that leads to a neglect of one's relationship with Allah.
Major Shirk:
Major Shirk is the most serious kind of polytheism, in which a person ascribes partners to Allah in His sole divine characteristics or adoration. It entails identifying others with Allah in adoration, supplication, or imbuing created beings with divine traits. Major Shirk is a serious transgression that undermines the foundation of Tawhid. It’s incumbent for the Muslim to be concerned with renewing his ʾĪmān (i.e., correct Islāmic faith) in the evening and the morning by pondering on the meaning of the statement of Tawḥīd lā ilāha illa Allāh since there’s no success except for the people of Tawḥīd.
For it is the statement of Islām. So, the Muslim (Muwahhid) must learn about Tawḥīd, implement it, be aware of its position, reject Shirk which is the opposite of Tawḥīd, have a hatred for associating partners with Allāh as well as those who practice it. The Muslim must deem the one who commits major Shirk (knowingly) is a disbeliever of the true Islāmic Faith. The Muslim must also be aware of the position of Shirk.

About This Book:
Value of studying concise books: Scholars paid great attention to authoring these concise books and invested their efforts in summarizing and briefing them, then kept them for their students as fundamentals to benefit themselves and others. Starting with these summarized books is the basis for students. The student of knowledge should learn gradually, starting from the knowledge fundamentals and so on. These summarized books serve as a means to elaborate ones. The elaborate books cannot be understood without gradually grasping the summarized ones.
Therefore, they commented on the meaning of what Allāh said: “On the contrary (he would say): “Be you Rabbaniyyun (learned men of religion who practice what they know and also preach others) because you are teaching the book, and you are studying it.” [Sūrah ʾĀl-ʿImrān (3):79] Rabbaniyyun refers to who starts teaching the simple matters before the complicated ones, as Al-Bukhari said on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās (May Allah be pleased with him): “Be you Rabbaniyyun”: means patient and learned.” It is said that Rabbani is the one who teaches people the simple matters of knowledge before the complicated ones.

Everyone chases after happiness, yet few fully recognize what it is or whence it comes from. Happiness isn’t a destination but a journey needing certain inner qualities and a right state of mind to experience and reap. It’s neither sold as a commodity nor can be bought, except through carefully crafting one’s character and following a plan of action. For indeed, those who don’t plan will fail to realize desired results. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Those among us (destined to be) from people of happiness [in the Hereafter] will (find it easy to) enact deeds of people of happiness...” [Sahih Al-Bukhari, #4948].
In other words, by choosing a path reflecting attitudes of happy people one will recognize its reality and the ease and pleasantry in having good deeds done that are in themselves, characteristics of happy people. It requires contemplation of an alternate world view to one that compounds first world problems, for example. Shaykh Nasir Al-Sa’di mentions in this short summary, eight ways to achieving the goal of bringing about happiness while driving away its opposites - sadness, grief, and anxiety.
Reaching it is contingent on three main causes he identifies to leading a goodly life. These succinct pointers are easy to understand and you’ll be able to identify the impediments you need to rework and hence live your life with happiness. This will transform you into being the best Muslim you can in today’s complex world, and will also inspire you to train your inner self. Whoever follows these eight steps will find self-awareness and a pathway to joy and success in this life and the next, Insha’Allah.
